Panic in Pittsburgh (Screech Owls)
Panic in Pittsburgh is about a hockey team called the Screech Owls. They skate and play in a hockey tournament in Pittsburgh. The main character gets a concussion, which means he can’t play in the final game. He’s disappointed, but he would never have known that some thieves were going to try to steal something if he wasn’t in his room with the concussion. He overhears thieves talking about their plans and has to try to stop them.
This book has a lot of hockey in it, so people who don’t like sports a lot shouldn’t read it. It was too much for me, and I didn’t really understand the parts that went on and on and on about hockey. If you are a hockey fan, and especially a Pittsburgh fan, you will like it a lot. I liked Travis, the main character, who is really funny and interesting. His teammate, Nish, who wants to be called the Iceman, likes to moon people for fun. Overall, it is an entertaining, funny book, but just has too much hockey for me.
