One
One by Sarah Crossan was a brilliantly touching story about two girls who just happened to have more than normal in common.
Grace and Tippi are conjoined twins. When their mom tells them they are not going to be homeschooled anymore the two are terrified. Then they meet Yasmeen and Jon. Yasmeen and Jon are there for them and fight for them. All of a sudden after the flu, both Grace and Tippi start falling down often and having trouble breathing. What will they do to try to stay together forever?
One deserves a five star rating. Though the story wasn’t relatable in the conjoined twins part, the story of discovering yourself and money problems are touching realities. ‘A good book will put you in tears’ is a perfect way of summing this book up. With Sarah Crossan’s amazing writing and an ending filled with perfection combined, my head nearly explodes! I really loved Grace’s voice. I would want to be her friend. Crossan’s poetry is one of most incredible I have read.
If you are looking for a brilliant and tragic book, pick up One. And to Sarah, I’ll be looking for more from you!
