The book Madame X and the World Beneath by Eileen Conway is a brilliant mix of adventure and emotion. The main character is introduced with the knowledge that her parents are famous. This knowledge gives the reader ideas of how this might be a disadvantage, even though the initial thought is how this child is privileged. Through a thrilling adventure, the author reveals the true bond of friendship between the main character and his friend. It’s hard to classify this book’s genre because it is such a perfect mix of adventure and mystery. The main character’s parents disappear, which sets up the plot as mystery. When they are trying to find the parents, the team encounters so many plot twists that you could easily say it is adventure. I would recommend this book to all ages because the plot is easy to follow, so a younger reader could read it and understand it, but the plot is so amusing that I think older and more mature readers would still love it and cherish the story. The book almost forces you into a mindset of “anything is possible” because of how determined the characters are. The amount of determination they carry is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Even after facing failure, they relied on one another for encouragement and ideas and would find a solution and go for it, no matter how many cases suggested that they would fail. It’s really true hope and believing in anything. Each character that Eileen Conway introduced really comes to life, and makes it feel like she’s introducing these characters to you. These characters slowly become your best friends… or your worst enemies. She also makes every concept that she introduces come to life. It’s so realistic that you expect to find it in the real world. Throughout the book, a picture is slowly painted in your head, and the end result of Conway’s work is truly stunning. Almost everything about this book is inspiring and realistic. All of these elements blend together in perfect harmony. Eileen Conway really embodies the idea of literary elements and symbolism and has a really different way of expressing her author’s craft, and it shows in the book really well. There is also a thought of humor, which brings this book to a whole other level. You will find all these reasons and more if you read this book; that’s why I rate this a 5 starts out of 5 stars, because Eileen Conway’s craft is really unique and special.
