Leaving Amarillo: A Neon Dreams Novel
“Swoon”: that’s the first word that popped into my head after reading Leaving Amarillo. To say I enjoyed this particular story would be a major understatement. For starters, I absolutely adore books that involve music. The way Quinn incorporated what music meant to these characters was both lyrical and beautiful. They face struggles as they try to make it into a business that’s not guaranteed, while also struggling with internal feelings of lust, and possibly love. Dixie, the heroine of the story, is both spunky and independent. I immediately liked her because of her confidence and her determination to go after what she wants. She doesn’t beat around the bush. Dixie has no problem telling Gavin, the drummer of their band, that she wants him. But, Gavin has made a promise he intends to keep. When they can’t help themselves anymore, the love and passion between the two is off the charts. Caisey Quinn fans will fall in love with this beautiful story. Plus, it helps that there’s a lot of angst and chemistry that jump off the pages.
