Jungle of Bones
Dylan is a naughty boy with a bad attitude who steals a car from a junkyard. He takes the car out driving and tears up farmland. Then, he is caught by policemen. As a punishment for stealing the car, Dylan is sent to live with his very strict uncle in a hotel in Oregon. His uncle decides to take Dylan on a mission to find the remains of a B-17 bomber named Second Ace, in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. The jungle is hot, humid, and full of leeches and roaches. It is a very dangerous place to be, especially for a child!
Dylan has to decide whether to be a good helper in searching for the bomber, or to continue making bad choices for himself. This book is full of disgusting parts (like when leeches are stuck to Dylan’s skin), and funny parts (like when Dylan quickly swims away from snapping rocks that are actually crocodiles!).
Is Dylan’s punishment really a blessing in disguise? For anyone looking to read an adventurous tale, this is a cool, exciting, and suspenseful book!
