Jasper John Dooley: NOT in Love

Description

This was a funny book about a boy named Jasper John Dooley who normally plays knights with his friends at recess, but a little girl named Isabel and her friend wanted them to play babies. Isabel is in love with Jasper and keeps inviting him over to her house to play. Jasper only plays with her because she has a trampoline. Isabel tells everyone at school that she and Jasper are getting married. Jasper doesn’t want to marry Isabel and tries to do things to make her not like him. My favorite part of the book was when Isabel rode on the back of her dog across the school playground to marry Jasper. I wish I had a dog that was big enough to ride on! I liked this book and laughed out loud when I saw the picture of Isabel in chapter 11 after Jasper connected her dots with a permanent marker! That was so funny! There aren’t a lot of pictures, but it has a couple in each chapter. I think boys and girls will both like this book. I’m glad I read this book and I will definitely read it again!
