George’s next door neighbor Bill was up early one winter morning building a house out of snow. He told George it was called an igloo and asked if he wanted to help. George wanted to make an igloo so that he could sleep in it! First he made a circle in the snow. Then he built snow blocks and put them around the circle. Bill taught George how to fill in the cracks, so that it is warmer inside the igloo. George thought Bill’s igloo was too small, so he went home and built a bigger one. George did not fill in the cracks very well in his igloo. The man in the yellow hat let George sleep outside in the igloo. In the middle of the night George woke up because he was freezing! Then he decided to build an igloo inside the house where it was warm. In the morning, water was everywhere! He played in his igloo that was outside all winter! I liked this book! It was a good book for me to read on my own. At the end of the book it shows you how to make your own igloo out of marshmallows. I would like to try to do this! This is a fun book to read in the winter. I think other kids my age would like it.
