Hope

Hope is a book of letters written by grandparents to their grandchild. In this story the family is a family of lions. You see the grandchild grow from a baby all the way until it’s grown. The first letter is about the baby lion being born, and the grandparents are happy that they are there to see the baby. Even though they have lived a long time, they see the baby as a new life starting over. The letters are telling the grandchild all the ways that they are connected, but the child will have its own life different from anyone else. No matter what happens, the grandparents are always a part of the grandchild’s life in happy times and sad times.

This book teaches us that you should never give up because there is always hope, even if you are young or old. I liked that the story was written as letters because it makes it seem like any grandparent could say these things to their grandchild, not just lions. The pictures looked like water-colored paintings and were really beautiful. I really liked this book. Even though there were some sad parts, the book says there is always hope.
