Hello Kitty Presents the Storybook Collection: The Little Mermaid

You may have seen the movie of the story of The Little Mermaid, but have you read the original version—the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale? I have, but if you have not, read this funny version, which is Hello Kitty’s own version of The Little Mermaid!! The illustrations in this book remind me of another story I like, which is Moana. Girls who like Hello Kitty will really enjoy this book. Hello Kitty stars as Ariel, but they didn’t call her Ariel. The author made a mermaid character named…Hello Kitty. However, the Hello Kitty franchise was created by Sanrio Smiles. The Little Mermaid was created as a movie (Disney) and as a book (Hans Christian Anderson), so they have some unusual relationships in this version. In this book, the Sea Witch (often called Ursula, but she isn’t in this one) gives Hello Kitty the Mermaid a potion for her voice. She didn’t have her voice until she met the Prince Kitty.
