Hammer and Nails
Hammer and Nails is a great book about time a little girl spends with her daddy. Darcy is very disappointed when her friend cannot come and play. So she ends up having a daddy/daughter day. They do one thing on Daddy’s to do list, then one thing on Darcy’s list. They start the day drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. But Darcy drinks chocolate milk and reads the comics. Then they play dress up and Daddy even wears a Tutu. Together they mow the lawn, do each others hair, have a laundry fight, a dance party then take a nap. Daddy teaches Darcy how to use a hammer, and Darcy shows daddy how to do nails. This is where the title, Hammer and Nails comes from.
I absolutely adored Hammer and Nails. I have actually read it every night since it came in the mail. I love the illustrations, they tell so much to the story. I liked that Darcy is able to help her daddy with all his chores and I love that her Daddy even wears a tutu all day. I think other kids would love to read Hammer and Nails as much as I do.
