Follow a bee as it flies through the city. Some people are scared of bees and think bees are pests, but really bees are only looking for pollen to eat. We need to be a friend to bees because we need them to pollinate all the fruits and vegetables on farms, so that farmers will have food to harvest, and we can purchase it at a farmer’s market or a grocery store. I think this book is great for kids and their families to learn about the important jobs of bees and how they help us. Bees also make yummy honey, which can be used to cook with. The illustrations are colorful and bring to life how the world looks to a bee, except for the red illustrations because bees can not see the color red. This nonfiction book has facts such as how a bee collects pollen, which sticks to their legs so they can take it back to the hive. This book also has a neat diagram of a bee’s body parts. This book has a great tip on how to help bees in your neighborhood by planting flowers they love to eat. This is a must-have book because everyone needs to learn about bees.
