Don’t Let Me Go
This is a touching story about a girl, her addict mom, and the neighbors who stepped up to help. Grace is nine years old and lives in a low-income apartment with several other tenants, all of whom usually do not talk to or make friends with each other. But with Grace around, everything changes. The other characters, Billy, Rayleen, and others, all had things to share and add to the story. The author made them all interesting but normal enough that the story was very believable. I highly recommend this book. I did not want to put it down. I wanted to know what would happen next with Grace and the neighbors, especially who would help who next. The story was a great example of how people can help each other while helping themselves, and through this everyone becomes a better version of themselves. I highly recommend this book to anyone age 14 or over. It is a great book that will make you smile and cry, usually on the same page.
