Daring Darleen, Queen of the Screen
Daring Darleen, Queen of the Screen was a thrilling tale. It’s about a girl named Darleen Darling who is the heroine of her own series of short films. Her studio, which is a small family-owned and operated place, has an idea for a publicity stunt. Since her on-screen persona is an action heroine, the stunt will involve a fake kidnapping. However, it goes wrong and the fake kidnapping is suddenly very real.
Darleen is mistaken for Victorine Berryman, the heiress to a large fortune. The dim-witted criminals take both girls to be safe, but the two form a fast friendship. Soon it seems like Darleen can’t tell the difference between her short films and real life, and she and Victorine get up to all kinds of high jinks.
This book was very entertaining and very action packed. There were no slow moments.
