This book is all about different constructions, which are things that are built. Some of them have been made by animals, like the termite mounds in Australia or the Great Barrier Reef, which is made out of corals. But most of the constructions in this book are things that people made. One interesting construction is the Greenland Seed Vault, which contains millions of seeds in a huge, cold, metal vault that are supposed to last for a really long time. Another is the Social Pool out in the Mojave Desert. This book tells you about the construction, like where it is, why it was built, and how and why it is interesting. A lot of the pages have some True-or-False quizzes about the constructions, too (like the one about the Cathedral termite mounds asks if a pipe organ plays from inside them every Sunday at 10:30. What do you think?). The illustrations are drawings that help you see what the constructions are like, and they are very interesting, too. If you are curious about the different things people (and animals) have made, from buildings to bridges to artworks and more, you should read this book!
