Charlie’s Magical Carnival
Since my daughter is only four, she is not quite able to give me a good review of a book that I read her except for bits and pieces of the story. My daughter’s friend’s older sister has volunteered to help me with reviews; her name is Ellie, and she is seven years old. Here is her review: I really liked this book. First, it has elephants on the cover, and elephants are my favorite animal. The cover also matches the story. The book is about a boy and going to the carnival. It also has magic! It’s kind of funny too. I thought the folding pages were super cool!
That’s all I could get her to tell me about the book, but I have to say as an adult reading this to my children, it’s a fun book with colorful and whimsical illustrations that take you to Charlie’s carnival in his mind and allow you to use your own imagination wherever you wish. I loved that the mother got to tag along with Charlie and experience elephant taxis, lemonade lakes, and enjoy cake that covered the whole city square. A great book to make into a series!
