Blizzard

Blizzard is about a little boy and his sister who were in a huge blizzard with their family. It snowed over 40 inches. Each day they have fun and play in the snow and wait for the snow plows but they don’t come. They are running out of food! Finally the boy, who has read an Arctic Survival guide, knows he is the only one who can help. He goes on a mission. Can he make it to the store? Can he make it back?

I really liked this book. I like how brave the boy was and how nice he was when he checked in with his neighbors on the way to the store. The pictures are great because it made me feel like I wanted to be there. Since I live in Texas I don’t get to play in snow and I really want to play in snow now. I especially like the fold out pages that show his journey. I also like how they hid the day of the week in the pictures so you know how long it has been. The best part is that is that this is a true story about the author and they put a picture of him, his sister and his dog in the back. It is so cute! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure or needs help being brave.
