Antarctica: The Melting Continent

I think that this book will help other kids learn about Antarctica and what happened a long time ago in Antarctica. I didn’t know that dinosaurs used to cover Antarctica and not ice! I love the pictures in this book they are very detailed and beautiful. Right away the cover got my attention with fish and whales. I like the little facts along the side. I am only eight so there are a lot of words on every page. It took me a while to read the whole book but it was exciting to read so many facts so I didn’t mind taking a long time. I do think it is for kids who have a higher reading level in second grade than a typical second grader. This is a fun way to read a nonfiction book for sure. I think visiting Antarctica is on my list of places to visit sometime in my life now that I have read this book!
