Annie’s Life in Lists
Things I liked about Annie’s Life in Lists:
1. I love lists and make them all the time!
2. Unique and cool format for a book!
3. Very relatable main character
4. Dealt with topics that worry late elementary/middle-school kids (making friends, moving, fitting in, speaking up for yourself, being proud of your strengths, etc.)
5. Seeing Annie get stronger throughout the book
Things I liked less about Annie’s Life in Lists:
1. Could have stuck to lists more, didn’t need all the prose explanations
2. Slower moving plot—maybe because of list format and that most of the action takes place in the past?
3. Ending with clover day seemed a little stretched (hard to believe)
4. Touched on the racial past of town, but didn’t do much with that idea
Who will like Annie’s Life in Lists?:
1. Mostly girls over 8 and under 11
2. Especially someone who has just moved or feels embarrassed of a special skill
