A History of Glitter and Blood

Disappointment isn’t a strong enough word for the way I felt after reading that. Honestly, it sits right up there with one of the worst books I’ve ever read. To put it lightly, it wasn’t enjoyable at all. I had a hard time connecting with the story and would forget key characters just as soon as I was introduced to them. The world building, the characters, lacked so much that I didn’t care for them at all.

I wanted to love this, I wanted this to be my next favorite read. But instead, I got a pile of words pretending to be something it’s not. I’m hoping that I can give the author another try one day but for now I think I’ll skip out on anything else she writes. If you’re looking for book that’s magical and romantic, this isn’t it. I don’t know what “it” is but A History of Glitter and Blood isn’t it. I would suggest skipping past this one but if you must, read at your own risk. You might even end up enjoying more than me!
