100 Things That Make Me Happy
100 Things That Make Me Happy by Amy Schwartz is a sweet book about happy things. I really liked that there were lots of rhyming words in this book. I think that the characters in this book are all of the 100 happy things and all of the people. The people are mostly children who are doing things like eating a gingersnap, building a snowman, zooming planes, riding bikes and trikes, and building blocks. There are also some kid twins who are jumping rope. The illustrations in this book are bright, colorful pictures that show many things that make the kids feel happy. Younger kids will like this book because of the pictures. There are a lot of words but no sentences, like this: “Hula-hoops Double Scoops.” My favorite part was when I saw a picture of two little kids who are giving each other a hug. I like this because I think I am like the kids who are giving a hug. I like that part because they were sweet, and I am sweet, too.
