Carry On: Poetry by Young Immigrants
If you pick up this book and start flipping the pages, you’ll find yourself reading poems from people who came from a different place but live in Canada. There are people who come from the other side of the country! Some come from Iran, South Korea, Moldova, and other places, but even though they aren’t similar at all, they are all immigrants.
This book was amazing because you read the changes that immigrants had to go through when they moved. This is a very powerful and meaningful book, and I really enjoyed reading different stories from different and unique people who moved to Canada. The illustrations by Roge were realistic and fun to look at, but I would have liked it better if there were more colors. I recommend this book for people who like reading poems. It is for any age. Now, go read some poetry!
