Quiet Please, Owen McPhee!
The picture book Quiet Please, Owen McPhee! by Trudy Ludwig is about Owen McPhee talking a lot. So all of the classmates made Owen be quiet, but he doesn’t want to be quiet. So he made Laryngitis Day. So he’s in school, all the kids are laughing, but he doesn’t say a word. Owens meets a girl, and they give each other notes and some boys come in and say, “What are you doing to our bridge?”, and the girl tells them all about what they are doing. The teacher says great teamwork, and they go back home. Back home, Owen signs his calendar with Laryngitis Day. I like the book because it was funny when Owen talked a lot. His friends get a little mad. I liked the illustrations because they looked kinda sketchy.
