Lights, Camera, Carmen!
Lights, Camera, Carmen! is a cute story about a little girl who loves attention. Carmen-the girl suddenly has the urge to be famous. The girl sees an ad on the back of a cereal box that says if you win the contest they’re having, then you can be part of their commercial. The story was interesting and believable. I think the best parts were when Carmen would talk to her little brother, Eduardo, who would always wonder what the words meant when she said something complicated. I also think the main characters were very easy to relate to. They were very funny and realistic. The only thing I didn’t like was that you didn’t to get to know the characters in depth. Other than that, I thought the book was great. I was able to relate to the characters easily, and they were very lively. The language flowed just like an everyday conversation, and the way the author described it was like I was right there. The dialogue was the perfect amount. The author added description and added dialogue. The moral of the story was loyalty and friendship. Anika Denise, the athour, effectively made that point at the very end. Go read this book. I was cracking up every second of it. I would recommend this book for people from ages six to nine. If you are a kindergarten teacher, then read this to your class to teach them about loyalty.
