The Good Samaritan and Other Parables

This book has stories from the Bible that were the stories Jesus told. In the story of the Good Samaritan, there was a man who got beaten up and his clothes were stolen. A priest who was walking along the road crossed to the other side of the road when he saw the man. There was another man who, when he was walking on that road, crossed to the other side too. But then there was a Samaritan who was kind and gave the poor man a place to sleep and had pity on him. In another story, there was a man who planted some seeds, but there was rocky soil that wasn’t good, and then the seeds grew up but withered. Other seeds grew up with thistles. And then there were some seeds that grew up just right. And there are lots of other stories in this book. This book is really fun to read, and it has some really good stories in it. This author, Tomie dePaola, also draws the pictures for this book, and he draws pictures that are so fun. You will love the illustrations in this book and love reading the stories too.
