A Case of Sense
A Case of Sense’s moral was amazing. But when the author, Songju Ma Daemicke, put it together, it did not make much sense. It seemed like there was missing page that would explain the case in more detail. A little boy who lives in a town with a Chinese restaurant narrates the book. The restaurant owner is greedy and tries to charge the town for smelling his food. They go to court and figure out an interesting solution. The illustrations fit perfectly with the story. They’re very enjoyable to look at. I don’t think this book is believable, but it is interesting to think about. I think the book needed to be longer to clarify its point. This would probably be best for ages nine and above. If you are interested in law, I would also consider getting this book. Even though the book didn’t execute the moral very well, it is a good concept. So you should read this book anyway.
