Otto and the Secret Light of Christmas
Otto wants to find out the meaning of Christmas, so he goes on an adventure to find it out. On his way he meets so many creatures like mupples, hazytales, leaf fairies, and snow lontties! Will Otto succeed in his mission? I really liked how Otto meets made-up animals and learns from them. The author does a good job of imagining details such as saying hazytale animals take a whole day to complete one sentence! Each animal had its own personality, like the friendly mupples, argumentative lontties, and lazy hazytales. The illustrations were beautiful and lots of effort was put into them. The artist did a great job with blending color and using light. Each picture was a great size and one on nearly every page. Without the pictures, the book wouldn’t be nearly as appealing. You could read this book even if it wasn’t Christmastime, though. This would be a fun series, and Otto could go on other journeys to figure out other holiday meanings! I was eager to see what Otto would find out, and you should read it, too.
