Playing Juliet
Beth has always wanted to be an actor but her father is already set on her being a lawyer like him. She has tried to find the right time to tell him, but she keeps putting it off. Her best friend Zandy is always there for her and she helps Beth practice for the play. Before the theater closes there will be one last play, the same play that the theater started with many years ago, Romeo and Juliet. Will Beth be able to tell her father that she wants to be an actor? Also, will she be able to play Juliet or save the theater from closing?
I’m not spoiling it, so you better figure it out yourself!
Playing Juliet is an intense fun book and it is very enjoyable. I think that young actors, age ten and up, would like it. It has Shakespearean quotes throughout the book. The back of the book lists the quotes and tells you which play they are from. I liked this book and I think you’ll like it to!
