The Inquisitor’s Mark (The Eighth Day)
Jax doesn’t know that any of his family exists, but he is trying to save the Eighth Day from the Dulacs, who are trying to destroy it. Evangeline, a descendant of the famous Merlin Emrys, can only exist on the Eighth Day, and Jax must protect her because he is her vassal. Anyone who has magic, like Jax does, is bound by their oath to serve their liege lord or lady. But when Jax discovers that he has magical family that exists on the Dulac side, his loyalties sway as he has to decide whether to obey his oath or find the family he never knew he had.
This book had a lot of suspense and power and was very magical. The story was very interesting and kept me engaged, and it explained very well what had happened in the previous book, so even though I hadn’t read them, I knew what was going on. This book has a very good way of not letting you know everything at the same time, but eventually you find out, and it was a good ending, although I think there will be another book after this one. I hope there will be!
