The Black Reckoning (Books of Beginning)

Emma, Kate, and Michael are siblings, and Emma has just been captured by the Dire Magnus, a very powerful being who wants to control all the Books of Beginning. Michael has the Chronicle, or Book of Life; Kate has the Atlas, or Book of Time; which means that Emma is going to get the Book of Death. Since Kate and Michael already have their books, the Dire Magnus is going to try to force Emma’s spirit to find the Book of Death, which only Emma can find. As their good friends, Drs. Pym and Gabriel, try to find Emma, Kate and Michael try to find a way to destroy the books and live, because a prophecy says that if they bring the books together and use them, they will die.

This book was thrilling to read about the amazing fantasies, fantasy people like giants and fairies and wizards, that supposedly live all over the world. Even when they were once warring against each other, in the most dire circumstances they were the best of friends because they wanted to save the world. I also found it enthralling that Kate, Michael and Emma would do anything to save the ones they loved the most.
