The Witches’ Supermarket (8×8 with stickers) (Martha Speaks)
The Witches’ Supermarket is about Helen and her dog Martha. Martha is the star of the PBS show “Martha Speaks.” On Halloween night, they see a mysterious old lady drop a coupon and duck into an alleyway then go through a doorway labeled “No Dogs Allowed.” As we go in, they see horrible thing s like apples with worms, poisoned cola, and frogs legs, but they get the shock of their life when they see the old woman. She hops on a broom and she goes zooming through the supermarket. Martha and Helen get found out. How will they escape?
I recommend this book for ages 4-6. If you like the “Martha Speaks,” then it’s interesting to learn more of the backstory about her life before she could speak. This book is best read at nighttime, ideally on Halloween, for maximum spookiness. This was the first Martha book that ever came out. It tells the story of Martha before she could talk. As a fun bonus, it includes 40 stickers on the front and back pages.
