Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face and the Badness of Badgers
Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face and the Badness of Badgers is really funny. It would make a great series, especially for kids that like silly adventures or the book Fortunately the Milk, which it reminded me of.
It’s about two siblings, Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face, who go on an adventure to put the badgers in jail because they are suspected of stealing Stinkbomb’s twenty dollar bill, but things never go as expected in this book! I really liked Ketchup-Face because she is cool and makes up really bad songs (the score is included at end of book, and I played it on my violin when I finished the book!). I don’t have a brother, but I thought their sibling relationship was very believable from the kids I know.
There are lots of pictures throughout the book (on almost every page), and they really help tell the story. The style of the illustrations really fit with the silliness of the book. I think five- to eight-year-olds would most like this book and am excited to read the next one where they go on a quest for a magic porcupine.
