Best in Snow
“A freeze, a breeze, a cloud, it snows.” Best In Snow delightfully captures the beauty of winter. April Sayre brings out the best of winter nature in this peaceful book. I felt like I went on a walk through the woods when I read this book. In a majority of pages there is a bird or a squirrel. There are a deer and snail, too, but most of the pages just have outdoor scenery. I think kids under seven would enjoy the animal photos. But older people would also appreciate the other nature pages and the poetry. The writing rhymes and repeats sounds like “s.” In the back, there is a little description of the snow’s cycle. Best in Snow would be relaxing if you were mad or hyperactive. Cheery and calm is hard to come across. So I would recommend this book. I would also recommend to the author, April Sayre, to make a sequel or similar book about a different season. You may have noticed that there seems to be a play on words with the title, Best in Show. I didn’t understand it until a grown-up explained it. Even though the word play was odd, I think in the good overpowers bad, and you should get this book.
