Cara’s Kindness
Cara the cat loves skating. One day at the rink she sees Darby the dog sitting by himself, as he’s scared of skating. Cara helps him learn, and soon he’s happy and skating away. Later on, Darby is having a snack and hears a grumbling noise from Pax the bear, who’s hungry. Darby shares his sandwich. On the way home Pax sees that Marky the Monkey lost her ball in the freezing lake. Pax jumps in and gets it. Then Marky sees a lonely skunk, Samantha, and invites her over to play kickball with them. Samantha meets Milo, a mole who loves hockey but can’t see well enough. Samantha decides to give her a play-by-play. A few days later, Milo hears Cara’s frustration because she can’t find the right song for her skating. Milo offers to play a special song, and Cara’s performance is beautiful.
I really enjoyed this book! It was nice that all the friends decided to do a kind act for one another and that at the end Cara had a nice act done back to her. I love that they reminded each other to pass on the kindness. It made my heart feel warm and fuzzy.
