Waylon! One Awesome Thing

Waylon! One Awesome Thing is a book about a kid trying to help a dog, Dumpster Eddy, stay out of the pound. In the process, Waylon makes friends with Baxter, who is also trying to help the same dog. Waylon and Baxter make a plan to rescue Dumpster Eddy. Waylon dresses up as Benjamin Franklin to provide a distraction, and Baxter pics the lock on Dumpster Eddy’s cage. Dumpster Eddy is able to escape, and Waylon and Baxter eat cupcakes at a bakery to celebrate.

This book has some pretty funny parts. One funny part is when Waylon and Baxter are the only kids on recess that don’t participate in throwing pine cones at people. They watch everyone else throw pine cones at each other. My favorite character is Waylon because he’s really smart and thinks of good ideas to help Dumpster Eddy. My favorite part of the story is when Waylon and Baxter watch everyone else on recess throw pine cones at each other. I would recommend this book because the main character is really smart and makes the story very funny.
