Unleashed
There’s an Invent-a-Palooza contest at the school. Griffin, the Man with the Plan, tries to make a quiet vacuum. Melissa makes a Hover Handler that brings back Savannah’s dog from chasing the exterminator’s truck. Darren (a guy who writes a speech with “dork” and “moron” in it) makes an egg cooker. (His mom’s client really makes it.) Mr. Hartman puts a fence up and blocks their shortcut to school. The Hover Handler is stolen. The friends make ten thousand plans to find the Hover Handler. Will their plans succeed? Who will win the contest? Read the book to find out. My favorite character is Ferret Face, a ferret that lives in Ben’s shirt to bite his nose when he has narcolepsy. Ferret Face is an agent in a plan at Mr. Hartman’s house to see if he has the Hover Handler. The ferret has a camera strapped to his back. I like Ben and Mr. Hartman, too. The plans were funny. I liked it when Mr. Hartman fell down the stairs. There are zero pictures in the book. The cover has the dog as a Frankenstein on it. (I don’t know why. Maybe it was the only thing they could think of.) I will read more Swindle Mysteries.
