The Moon Man
A farmer put up a scarecrow in a field. Squirrel, Cat, and Rabbit are all excited. At night, three other friends, Fox, Owl, and Hedgehog, see the scarecrow. They think it’s a man from the moon and that he may be hungry, so they gather food and put it at its feet. In the morning, the first three friends find the food and think it came from the scarecrow. As a thank you, they cover it in flowers. At night, the others see that the food was eaten and think that the moon man must be homesick, so they build him a rocket with twigs and a cardboard box. The next morning, the farmer decides to move it to another field. Rabbit, Cat, and Squirrel sadly wave goodbye. Fox, Owl, and Hedgehog wake up to the scarecrow not being there anymore, and they think he took back off to the moon.
I loved this story! It is so cute and funny. I love how the three friends called the scarecrow “crow scarer” and how they all tried to take care of him. It was a story about everyone being really kind, and that’s not easy to find.
