One hundred and two passengers boarded The Mayflower ship and had a long, long journey across the ocean. They were going across the ocean to find a new land because their king said they had to worship him and not what they believed in. When they got to the new land, they found some Indians who helped them survive. They built houses and learned how to plant corn and grow crops; the Indians taught them that fish were good for the soil. Most of them didn’t die, and they celebrated the first Thanksgiving with their Indian friends.

I think this is a good book to learn about the first Thanksgiving and about the Pilgrims and The Mayflower. The pictures show the way that people dressed that time, although I don’t like the pictures very much because they are very simple and look messy. It was important to learn the history of the Pilgrims and how they had to leave their homes to worship the way they thought was right. This book is a good way to tell their story.
