The Becoming of Noah Shaw
Noah Shaw. The sarcastic and very snarky boy who loves Mara with all his being. Inside his head are reverence, peace, and romance all mixed up into one. This is a sequel series to The Mara Dyer Trilogy and takes place after the third book ends. We get to see more Mara, and you can’t forget the best part–Noah. I love him and everything about his character. I’d like to point out that it felt like nothing happened for a long time in the book, and then it ended. The way it ended has me all up in knots until I can get my hands on the next book. The story is written in typical Hodkin’s prose–lyrical, beautiful, and extremely easy to read. The writing has always been a high point for me, and I feel like Hodkin was able to bring Noah back to life. Not like he could ever be forgotten–he’s one of the best-written characters is YA. I do wish the book had more excitement–it gives me hope for the next books in the trilogy. Especially with the way it ended, I need the next book like my life depends on it. If you’re a fan of Mara Dyer, then how could you not want to read Noah’s books? I’d like to add that it’s highly recommended to read The Mara Dyer Trilogy first, as a bunch of events that happen in that will be brought up in this book.
