Princess Penelopea Hates Peas: A Tale of Picky Eating and Avoiding Catastropeas
Princess Penelopea Hates Peas: A Tale of Picky Eating and Avoiding Catastropeas is about a princess who doesn’t like peas. This is a big problem because Princess Penelopea lives in Capital Pea where everyone eats peas. Penelopea hates peas so much that she doesn’t even like the P-E-A at the end of her name. Her parents try everything thing to get Penelopea to eat peas but she just hides them, in all of the mattresses of the castle; until one night, the mattresses explode. The King and Queen are so mad about the mess that they ban all peas from the kingdom. Penelopea is happy. She makes the last peas disappear by eating them. Penelopea realizes that she likes peas afterall.
I loved Princess Penelopea Hates Peas: A Tale of Picky Eating and Avoiding Catastropeas. It was a good book about picky eaters, and my little sister is a picky eater. I hope she decides to try spinach after reading this book. The illustrations were really fun to look at and I especially liked that as Penelopea eats peas, her dress changes to green. It was neat that they added “pea” to words, like “pea-licious” and “castastropea.” It was funny that Penelopea decides to eat the peas to make sure they are gone forever, but that is what makes her actually like peas.
