Never After: The Stolen Slippers (The Chronicles of Never After, 2)

Never After: The Stolen Slippers is a book written by Melissa de la Cruz, the author of the Descendants series, which the movies are based on. And this makes me wonder: will there be a Never After movie series in the near future? I think this book series could be adapted into amazing films.

In this particular story, an ordinary girl named Filomena is whisked away to Eastphalia, the setting of Never After, where she discovers the real story of Cinderella (she’s mean, and her wicked stepsisters aren’t wicked at all!). Filomena has to track down a pair of slippers, which may be a key to a prophecy: “If fairies’ gifts fall into ogres’ hands… death and destruction shall befall this land.” Does anyone know what it means? Who knows? You’ll have to read this book to find out.

And what’s more, there are poems! Actual rhyming poems that precede each part add exciting language throughout the book. Through these poems, the reader gains excitement and interest in continuing the story. This mysterious and enchanting book deserves five stars.
