Mom, There’s a Bear at the Door
The boy is talking to his mom about a bear being at the door. She asks him how a bear can get to his home, because they live on the eleventh floor of an apartment building in the city and bears live in the forest! So the boy tells her that the bear lives in the forest, but he rode his bicycle to the bus, then he took the bus, and then he rode it to the apartment building, and took the elevator to the apartment building so he could look out the window to look at the sea. And he won’t go home until he eats lunch; he wants to eat honey cake and black forest cake. I think the bear is the boy’s dad, because at the end when the bear is in his den, he is in the boy’s room, and there is a picture of the boy’s dad on the wall and a picture of the bear on the wall and the bear has hair and fur, but bears don’t have hair and fur. I like this book because it’s interesting and fun to think about and the pictures are fun to look at.
