Little Puffin’s First Flight
I love Little Puffin’s First Flight because it is a cute story about the life of a baby puffin chick. The drawings are beautiful, colorful, and fun. It is so exciting to wait on Little Puffin to hatch out of his egg! Mother and Father Puffin build a nice, soft, and cozy nest. They take turns sitting on Little Puffin’s egg, or hunting for food. It is funny when the author calls Little Puffin a “hungry gray fuzz-ball peep-peep-peeping for food.”
It is amazing how puffins can “fly” through the water while hunting for fish, just like other birds fly through the air! I think it was mean how the seagull shook Mother Puffin, and made her drop all the food she had collected for Little Puffin. He should get his own food!
When Little Puffin decided to fly for the first time, I was so happy! I was not scared at all, even though he jumped off the cliff. It is cute at the end of the story how Little Puffin finds his own mate, so he can have his very own Little Puffin!
