High schooler Shoko Komi is the prettiest girl at Itan High, but no one knows that Komi has extreme social anxiety, so she finds it difficult to communicate with other people. However, Komi meets Hitohito Tadano, an ordinary classmate of hers who promises to help her fulfill her dream of making a hundred friends. Ever since she met Tadano, Komi has made about twenty new friends. So far this school year, she has made only eight more. Can she pick herself up and make more friends this year? Or will her social anxiety slow her down?

Komi Can’t Communicate is an absolute favorite! The manga art is beautiful, adorable, and silly at times. I like how the author put in a lot of new characters with different personalities in volume nineteen. My favorite character that’s new is Kogoen because she’s cute and quiet. My favorite story in the book is the sleepover study session because it was so funny! I highly recommend Komi Can’t Communicate to fans of realistic manga that’s both cute and funny. I’m looking forward to so many more volumes in the future.
