Into the Hurricane
Into the Hurricane is an extremely fast-paced story about a boy named Eli and a girl named Max who, due to a crazy set of circumstances, end up riding out a category five hurricane on a tiny island. They have both experienced very hard things in their own separate lives and feel like they are not good people. This storm gives Eli and Max a chance to prove that their lives are worth living.
Throughout the story, the friends face a number of challenges, like a murderous enemy with a gun, a tornado, and being chased by an albino alligator named Ivory! Will they escape the storm and all the dangers that come with it?
Overall, I liked the high action level of this book. The imagery was very good, too. For example, when the author explained how Max and Eli were trapped by the alligator, I was actually scared for them! I thought about how it would feel to be chased by a hungry alligator. As a warning, there is a bit of mature language in this book that I am not allowed to use.
If you are looking for a suspenseful story full of action, this is a good book!
