There is no such thing as a normal life when you’re Nick Gautier, son of a demon, and squire to the living dead Dark-Hunters. When he finds himself sucked into an alternate reality, Nick quickly finds that the people he knew and loved are very different and maybe his life, as weird as it is, isn’t so bad. Now to figure out how to get back home!

If you are new to the Chronicles of Nick series or the Dark-Hunter series, the best advice is to stop now, and start at the beginning, preferably with the Dark-Hunters. While Illusions is a perfect standalone book, this series is even better, almost life-like, after you have been painted this long, intricately detailed genealogical history and world-building from the very start of it all by author Sherrilyn Kenyon. You’ll find that when you get to this book, you will devour it and be left pleading for the next book. But seriously, don’t take my word for, go ahead and read this one, and you’ll understand.
