I Am Able to Shine
Keiko wishes to change the world someday. She dreams big. At times Keiko feels invisible, and sometimes she wants to be someone else. But her family provides her with hope and fills her with love. She is no longer afraid to raise her voice. As Keiko gets older, she learns to love herself and believes that she will be able to make changes in the world. She knows that even if some people doubt her, she is always able to shine. Keiko thinks that if everyone else can do that, then so can she! Keiko will prove herself right.
Reading this wonderful book made me feel determined, and that’s a good thing. I enjoyed the beautiful art that I think was made with watercolors and other materials. The color palette in the art is nice and the way the illustrator drew the origami cranes and objects in the book looked very dazzling. I loved the way the story flowed, almost like a river full of words. The book didn’t have very many words, but not too wordy books are sometimes nice. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to believe in themselves a little bit more.
