How to Take the ACHE Out of Mistakes
This book talks about how to not make mistakes, as well as about how to deal with mistakes if you do make them. It talks about different kinds of mistakes, like whether they are accidental or intentional, and how to react to them. It talks a lot about how to learn from the mistakes you have made, so you can get better and hopefully not have them happen again. But it also says that it can’t help you to never make mistakes again, because people make them all the time! The most important thing is to learn from them and not let them keep you from getting better.
There is a checklist to see if you might be a perfectionist, and the book shows you why that isn’t helpful to you. Other sections talk about forgiving others and forgiving yourself. There are some fun illustrations and examples that make you feel like the book knows what you might be feeling when you do make mistakes, and it is all easy to read. It is written for probably a middle-grade audience. It is kind of boring, but also pretty useful.
