How Big Is Big? How Far Is Far?
This book is about height, length and weight. It compares animals to all sorts of things, like people, airplanes, cars and machines. That helps me understand the size and speed of different animals. Too bad it doesn’t include housecats! I like the illustrations, even though most weren’t very detailed.
I learned many things from this book. For example, T-rexes aren’t impressed by the height of giraffes, because giraffes are barely their height. Humans may think that giraffes are very tall, but to a T-rex, they are not very big. I found the rhinoceros beetle very interesting. It can lift up 850 other rhinoceros beetles! I was surprised by that. The book also talks about how strong ants are, but I already knew about them. I did not know that clouds could be so heavy. I thought they were as light and easy to tear as marshmallows, but they are super heavy and it is very hard to pull them apart.
This is a fantastic book. Anyone who wants to know how big big is and how far far is—this is the book for them. It will help kids understand height, length and weight instead of just hearing numbers. This is a book I will reread once a day because it’s the best book I’ve read in a long time.
