Famous Americans is an amazing book about our nation’s pioneers. Many of them started out as ordinary kids fighting for a cause. In this book, you will learn about 38 famous Americans from different fields. I like this book because they all fought for causes that had a huge impact in modern life. I also like this book because the pictures were really nice. Each famous person has a short biography about them. My favorite ones were Mia Hamm’s and Sally Ride’s. There were DYKAs (Do You Know About) for each person, which were really interesting. Here are some of them: Robert E Lee’s front lawn is a cemetery because the Union Army placed soldiers’ bodies there so he could not go back into the house. It is rumored some Yale students stole Geronimo’s skull from his grave. The teddy bear is named after Theodore Roosevelt because he refused to shoot a bear tied down by some scouts. The narration was really good, and there was a lot of interesting information. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and read this book.
