Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! It’s Shoe Time!

This book was about shoes that describe how cool they are. My favorite part was when the shoes talked about all their different cool characteristics. The best shoes were the ballet slippers that “kept you on your toes.” I thought this book was crazy and weird, but in a fun way. It was an interesting way to describe shoes and personify them. The illustrations were fun to look at because they were colorful and portrayed the shoes in different and new ways. Having the text as speech bubbles was a cool way to tell the “story” of the shoes and made the book more interesting to read. I also liked that the main character of the story chose different things to do with her dad and which shoes would go well with different activities. I liked that the shoes were personified based on their different functions. For example, the flip-flops could do flips, and the ballet shoes could twirl!
